Since 2008, the company has been owned by Momentum Group and has since undergone impressive expansion. ELR had a chat with Mikael Larsson, senior advisor at Rörick.

When I started at Rörick, we only had seven employees, but today we have grown to have around 70 employees. The company has its headquarters in Köping and workshops in Gävle, Västerås, Örebro and a representative in Gothenburg. Rörick was early on committed to the environment and circular economy by repairing engines and thus extending their life, Mikael begins to tell us.
My career at Rörick began in 1979 as a motor winder, where I rewound electric motors and repaired welders and pumps, among other things. In 1989 we were authorized by Siemens and expanded, which meant a significant increase in the number of employees. I advanced to supervisor, and later I became foreman. After we became part of Momentum, I became workshop manager in Köping. Nowadays I work two days a week as a senior advisor, with over 45 years in the industry, Mikael continues.

Membership in ELR – an invaluable asset

Being a member of ELR has been extremely beneficial to our business. The networking and contacts with colleagues across the country are invaluable. During ELR meetings and throughout the year, we receive practical help from each other, especially when it comes to specialist knowledge. Lectures and training on technology, laws, regulations and other relevant topics are also a great asset. Roger Johansson at ELR keeps us up to date with technical issues and leads training within the association, which is necessary in our niche industry. Getting to know each other personally and having digital meetings between physical meetings further strengthens our network.

Important issues for the industry

Education and technical skills are crucial to our industry - It is important that our members and employees are constantly educated to keep up with the rapid development of technology. Laws, regulations and certifications are also very important, and it is necessary that we stay up to date in these areas to be able to offer the best possible service.

Future challenges

Providing skills has always been a challenge and still is, perhaps more so now than ever. Finding the right staff is becoming more difficult, and the industry's major challenge is keeping up with technological developments. Everything from motors for ventilation systems in buildings to industrial machinery is now intelligent and controlled, requiring us to constantly update our knowledge and skills.

Rörick continues to grow and develop, and with support from ELR and our committed employees, we look forward to meeting the challenges of the future with confidence, concludes Mikael.

Rörick Elektriska Verkstad AB is a long-established electromechanical company with roots dating back to 1947, when it was founded by Uno Rörick.
